Today we'll be discussing two major questions: airport ownership and airport design. Consider the two questions below:
A) Who owns and who operates airports worldwide?
B) What are the two operational designs for airports? Discuss which one you think is better and why?

Nowadays most airports are operated by ^COGO^ model but, there are some countries like the US and Canada are under government control model. Although, the shops and facilities these airports could be leased out to private companies. Most employees work for private companies except 10%. In the future governments who run the airport going to privatization.
ReplyDeleteThere are two types of terminal for the airport, Centralized and decentralized. Centralized is an airport with only one terminal but, the decentralized airport is an airport with more than one terminal with different facilities.
ReplyDeleteI prefer the decentralized airport because it can cop with big amount of passengers compared to centralized which is very crowded and noisy. The decentralized airports provide more comfort for VIP people who wants extra comfort and better services.
The ownership and operation of the airports around the world usually follow government owned company operated model. Approximately, around 90% of the people who work in any airport work in any companies. The remaining 10% for the government. However, there are 2 exception for that , Canada, and US.

there are two design of airport. One is Centralized wich has one terminal with all passengers are processed. the other is Cecentralized has more than prodessing facilities.
The most common model is GOCO, government owned company operated and the most airports are under GOCO. For example BAA and Fraport are companies that operate airports, but there are airport that are operated by government entity, for example Canada and US. Also there most employees work for private companies while about 10% of the airport staff works for the government.
ReplyDeleteThere are two different layouts designs of airport. Centralised model that airport has only one terminal where all passengers are processed. Another model is decentralised an airport with more than one terminal and each terminal has a complete set of processing facilities and it has built on a humen scale. There are examples of centratised model, Bahrain airport (BAH) and Doha airport (DOH) until recently. The example of other model is Paris Charles De Gaulle (CDG), Dubai airport (DXB) and Hong Kong (HKG). I think decentralised model is best ,because the passengers feel comfortable and it easy to process

Airports are owend by the government but operated by a private company. Examples of this arrangemrnt are BAA and Fraport.

Until 1960s the old airport it can not copo with the growth in passengers numbers.The government start too think about bulding more terminals so it called the decentralized. The decentralized is more than one terminal and it need more stafe to operat decentralized. It buld for a human scalle. I think the decntralized is the most important than centralized.

THERE ARE TWO AIRLINES DESIGEN WITH CENTARLISE AND DESCENTARLISED FACILITIES.CENTARLISED ONE OF THE POPULER MODELS IN THE WORLD BUT NOT ANYMORE BECUSE THE NUMBER OF PASSENGERS INCRESED RECENTLY.SO GOVERMENT START TO THINK ABOUT BULDING NEW TERMINALS.WTICH IS CALLED DESCENTARLISED MODELS.THIS WILL DECRESE THE PASSENGER CONGESTION AND THEY FELL COMFORTABLE.
ReplyDeleteI THINK DESCENTARLIISED MODELS IS BATTER THAN CENTARLIESD MODELS AS CAN WE SEE MOST AIRPORTS CHANGE FROM CENTARLISED TO DESCENTARLISED.ALSO IT RUDUES THE PASSENGER CONGESTION.
